He's the one who paints those rainbows so high up in the sky
And he makes clocks and watches and batteries
so you know the time
He paints the patterns onto shells,
And the blue onto bluebells
And watches people in cars, on lawns, on beaches and the towns
He strokes the cats who are sleeping and dreaming
And sometimes leaves a little cream but quickly he is leaving
He gets down and He's crying, and He's crying because of it
And the sky is weeping
And the people run in the evening
Home to dinners they end up leaving
It's a little ridiculous
Don't you think?
He's the one who leaves a spider in your bath sometimes
Creeps in in the dark to see what you'll do this time
Just to test you, just to watch you
He leaves it up to you
And just because you're paranoid
Doesn't mean he's not watching you
He strokes the cats who are sleeping and dreaming
And sometimes leaves a little milk but quickly he is leaving
He gets down and He's crying, and He's crying because of it
And the sky is weeping
And the people run in the evening
Home to dinners they end up leaving
It's a little ridiculous
Don't you think?
Use a piece of card and a see-through glass
So the spider can see through
You see it, it sees you
Well you scare it and it scares you
But later the spider gets a much better view
And that's many thanks to you
And gets to see the sky go a very promising
Very glowing dark blue
We fall off our bicycles out of trees onto our knees
If you go blind then you will keep on feeling
If you get down, He's around
If your heart breaks, then it will keep on beating
If you go deaf you will keep on seeing
If you get down, He's around
And He's only joyriding, with you.
